The Page 8 Poems – From page 8 of Spirits of The Ordinary By Kathleen Alcala

Sleeping, in the silence of the

animals grazed nearby

where the weeds

were growing despite

the dry sands.

on the horizon

caught the

girl’s eye

as she awoke

a mare hobbled

toward her and

as if to call her name.

As she climbed

on the horse

with joy

adventure stirred

in her heart and mind.

The dream was just beginning

to unfold

the dreamer

waiting for the pictures

to flicker across the screen

of her mind.

About charlottesrow

I am a aspiring writer who has taken my time getting to the plate. I have been a Jill-of-all trades. I had a career as a Nanny for many years and decided that I needed a change. I have a "day-job" that is currently supporting me to pursue after all these years the things I really want to do with my life. I love writing, reading, and learning new things! I will have to sort out the jumble that is my creative projects that have collected cobwebs, the time has finally come!
